Jeff Baylis

Founder & President

Upon graduating from Loyola University Cum Laude in Accounting and Management in 1986, Jeff joined Sherwin Williams Management Training Program. His roles and assignments with Sherwin Williams include Store Management in New Orleans and Corpus Christi along with District Management assignments in Central Texas, South Texas and Houston, Texas.

After 25 years with the Sherwin Williams Company, the last 12 years as Houston District Manager, Jeff joined Systems Painters & Drywall as a partner in 2011. With his depth of industry and management experience, he was involved in all aspects of management, operations and sales. Much of his day was spent working closely with the paint and drywall estimating departments along with field operations, production, and product application.

In May 2014, he, along with Miguel, Justin and Hunter, launched the new Houston Office for Systems Painters & Drywall. Responsibilities included site location, lease negotiations, leasehold improvements, human resource/staffing recruitment, market/customer base development, field operations and production. Given the initial success, and to better serve the increasing demand in the fast growing Houston Metropolitan Market, the Houston Office was reorganized and separated to become Magnolia Commercial Finishes.

Miguel San Juan

Partner

A native Houstonian, Miguel has 13 years of experience that cross all aspects of commercial construction. From corporate interiors, medical buildouts, hospitality/restaurants, to ground ups, Miguel has estimated and managed them all. Priding himself in customer service, Miguel is well liked by his clients, and has generated significant amounts of repeat and referral business for the company. He holds a B.S. from Texas A&M University, and is an avid fly-fisher and duck hunter.

Justin Baylis

Partner

Justin has 8 years of experience across multiple areas of commercial construction. Ranging from hospitality/restaurants, to ground ups, he is always looking for new prospective projects. Taking pride in relationships and timely service, he has generated multiple great clients and repeat customers. A graduate from Louisiana State University, he is an avid fan of sports and travel.

Hunter Baylis

Partner

Hunter joined the construction workforce at an early age, and has traversed many different facets of the industry. He started off with fleet maintenance and equipment repair, then onto warehouse duties like commodities tracking and stocking. From there he went to the field to learn from the ground up in all aspects of construction. All of this prepared him for his current duties as acting Superintendent/Safety Advisor. Hunter assists in manpower, quality control, safety audits, preconstruction meetings and job walks.

Maria Castillo

Office Manager

Maria is the Office Manager at Magnolia Commercial Finishes. She assists in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures, assists in the administration of Human Resources and maintains accounts payable, receivables and monthly billing. Maria lives in Hockley with her husband and puppy Roxy.

Damaira Peralta

Office Assistant

Damaira became part of Magnolia Commercial Finishes shortly after it was established and has quickly become a valuable asset to the team. She contributes to numerous aspects of the company, including, Data Entry, Accounts Payable, and Payroll. She is currently working on her Accounting degree at Sam Houston State University with the goal of becoming CPA Certified. Damaira is a huge fan of DIY projects, scrapbooking and photography.
